Hi guys,
I talk a lot about YA books and I do read a lot of YA books. But I have to admit that sometimes I am ashamed of some of the books I haven’t read yet. I’m pretty busy with my internship, study and parttime job at de Bijenkorf, but still… I wonder why I haven’t picked up some of the books you’ve probably read. It’s not that I don’t want to read them, I do, but the moment still hasn’t come that I felt like: YES I need to read this right now. So please convince me to read these books in the comments down below!
1. Fangirl – Rainbow Rowell
When did I get it: Maybe 2 years ago or something? I didn’t even notice I bought a special edition, I just ordered it only. It sounded pretty funny and people were raving about it so why not buy it, right?
Why I haven’t read it yet: Not sure, maybe lost interest in it after hearing so many people talking about it? I felt like it was gonna disappoint me, but maybe I’m just scared of having high expectations of the book. Plus people then convinced me to read Eleanor & Park first but I haven’t done that either…
2. All the Bright Places – Jennifer Niven
When did I get it: just after it was released. I was so excited for the book! I was reading a lot of ‘depressing’ books around that time so this book seemed to be perfect. I have that every once in a while. So back then, people loved it, and again, high expectations.
Why I haven’t read it yet: I think that it’s the same with Fangirl: I have super high expectations of the book and I’m just scared that once I’ll read it I won’t like it as much as I hope I do right now. Just looking at it wondering whether or not I’ll like it is enough for now.
3. Throne of Glass – S.J. Maas
When did I get it: Right after A Court of Mist and Fury came around last year. I finished it and thought: okay, I never imagined myself to read high fantasy like this, so maybe I’ll like Maas’ other books as well. And so it happened, I bought the first book. I also own a copy of the fifth book which is signed. No copies of the other books.
Why I haven’t read it yet: I think that, like I said, I never see myself as a really big fan of high fantasy books but then again I adore the Court of Thorns and Roses series so why wouldn’t I like it? But also because it’s a huge series and if I find myself liking it, I will want to read all books and I need summer vacation to do that.
Please tell me which of these three books I really have to read and also explain to me why! Maybe you can convince me to read these beauties!
I read Fangirl and All the Bright Places and I loved them both. Both books are really well written and therefore do not take much time to read (in my experience). I’ve no experience with A Throne of Glass, but I am very curious about it, I’ve read so many good reviews online 🙂
I have the same with Fangirl, still have to read that book! All the bright places is such a beautiful book. It still gives me goosebumps when I think about it.
Throne of glass is good, I am currently reading Heir of Fire
