Episode 250 is here! It is the episode we’ve waited for, after all the promotion for this milestone… Let’s look back on what happened in this very tense episode.
First of all, we see Meredith opening the door to Penny; she seems super uncomfortable but she still tries to act normal. As Penny will try to talk to her later, Meredith tells her to socialize with anyone but her. Rude? But also understandable. Not sure yet…
Callie doesn’t seem to know what’s goin on between Meredith and Penny. She thinks the tension is because Arizona is there too. When Callie introduced Penny to Arizona, they seem to get along perfectly well. She even makes jokes about dating Penny herself?! Think this is just because she hasn’t quite moved on yet? She was very nervous about meeting her anyways. Is she over Callie? Could this tension between Penny and all Callie’s friends mean a breakup between the two? … could Calzona be a thing again? Maybe not. I’m just hoping, here.
Maggie left the dinner party to go to the hospital and have some tests done to see what’s going on in her… ladytown. Her doctor, coincidentally, is the intern she did it with. The one that got her in the hospital. He tells her she has nothing to worry about. I believe him! He seems like a nice guy, right?!
Back at the dinner party, Meredith confesses she knows Penny. She updates the rest of the guests on the fact that she ‘killed’ Derek. Amelia doesn’t seem to take this well and demands Penny to tell her everything about what happened, how he died, what his last words were. When Penny doesn’t tell her everything because of the uncomfortable situation, Amelia gets up and tells her to get out of her house. The guests are left at an uncomfortable table with awkwardness.
Amelia goes up to the bathroom where Meredith and Alex are trying to figure out what to do next. Amelia asks Meredith what they’re going to do about Penny and the fact that she’ll be working at GSM-Hospital. When Meredith finally breaks and gives us all the feels she possibly could without even crying, screaming to Amelia about how she does not get to fall apart because she has kids, how she did nothing to Amelia and how she tries to keep it together. This scene was so powerfull, I would give Ellen Pompeo an Oscar if I could.
April and Jackson doing the dishes together – talking about mistakes they had made and how she regrets things she did. Is there hope for these two??? I need them to be together! They had a normal moment for the first time in a while. Yay!
Jo and Stephanie made up. And then started fighing again. Not yay. I like their friendship but what Jo did was not really acceptable. I understand Stephanie on this one, though.
Eventually, Penny tells Meredith she won’t be taking the job at Grey-Sloan Memorial but Meredith tells her “see you on Monday”. I think they might find a way to be able to work together, even if that’s totally rediculous. I understand Meredith and her harsh comments about her killing Derek, but I also understand that Penny did what she could do. She tried to do it another way, but she didn’t have the last word on how to handle Derek’s treatment.
Guess we’ll see how this goes on in the next episode…
