Hello guys, how have you all been? I’ve been pretty busy with my internship, work and writing my thesis! This is also the reason why this post is uploaded this late. Instead of last Monday, I’m uploading it right now, on a Thursday. I’m really sorry for the confusion but I’m hoping you can still enjoy and appreciate it. As always, I made a list of the five most anticipated YA releases for this month. Here we go!
1. Our Dark Duet (Monsters of Verity #2) – V.E. Schwab
Release date: June 13th
Publisher: Greenwillow Books/HarperCollins (US) or Titan Books (UK)
The first book in this duology, I read a few months ago after picking up the book in London. I immediately fell in love with it: it’s super original, the storyline is great and there’s a lot of exciting scenes throughout the book. I feel like this book, the second one, will be even better. Ellen also read This Savage Song and reviewed it here for you. Read more…
2. Now I Rise (The Conquorer’s Saga #2) – Kiersten White
Release date: June 27th
Publisher: Delacorte Press
Being the second part to a very exciting fantasy series, this book has people all psyched. I haven’t read the first book, And I Darken, yet, but this action packed story sounds fantastic! So this is basically it: a kickass brutal princess defending what she believes in. When she and her younger brother have to take part in a cruel game, her lineage not only makes her special, but also a target. Read more…
3. Obsidian and Stars (Ivory and Bone #2) – Julie Eshbaugh
Release date: June 13th
Publisher: HarperTeen
June is big on sequels, and my third choice is a sequel as well. Haven’t read it yet, but people really enjoy this series and it has a pretty decent rating on Goodreads. The first book tells the story of Kol who meets Mya, who’s from another clan. They get to know each other, but Mya is hiding stuff which comes to light when enemy Lo arrives. Kol is pretty much lost while these girls are in a fight. But what happens after the battle is over? Read more…
4. Maybe in Paris – Rebecca Christiansen
Release date: June 20th
Publisher: Sky Pony Press
The title drew me in since I am deeply in love with Paris. The synopsis really convinced me: I have to read this book. It tells the story of Keira and her autistic brother Levi. Levi just recovered from a suicide attempt and Keira takes him on a trip to Europe. Instead of having fun, he wants to stay in. Mad, Keira decides to have fun with a rock player in Paris, not noticing her brother is having a mental breakdown. She comes home to an empty hotel room and Levi nowhere to be found. Read more…
5. The Impossible Vastness of Us – Samantha Young
Release date: June 27th
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
This sweet book tells the story of India who move to her stepfather with her mother: it’s uptown and very chique. At her new school, she feels like trash, while her stepsister Eloise and boyfriend Finn are the golden couple. But later on, when she befriends them, she comes to find out that things are not what they seem to be and their life isn’t easy at all. Read more…
First of all, good luck with your thesis and internship 🙂 I hope it works out well for you! I am really curious about the first book of the Monsters of Verity, I have recently bought it. Maybe in Paris sounds also really nice,I’ve put it on my TBR!
