July Book Releases

Hi guys,

After a very long two weeks of silence (I had this thing called handing in my thesis, gosh, that was something different…) but I’m now back on both YouTube and here. So without further ado, here are some of my most anticipated reads of July. And what I love about July is the fact that during the vacation it is actually possible to succeed in a reading challenge. 1. The Art of Starving – Sam J. Miller

The Art of Starving has been on my most anticipated reads list since way back in spring. I thought it would be really interesting to read a book a about a BOY with an eating disorder. We read a lot about girls having troubles with eating and their bodies, but I feel like body issues concerning boys are pretty rare. A book full of stories about villains: SAY WHAT? Yes, this is real. And I will just say this: the authors are not just any authors. I’m saying Renee Ahdieh, Marissa Meyer, Victoria Schwab, Adam Silvera and many many more! And the best thing? The thirteen bestselling authors teamed up with thirteen influential book tubers and wrote thirteen fairytales from  from the oft-misunderstood villains’ points of view. Read more…

3. This is How it Happened – Paula Stokes

Stories that involve somebody getting into a coma are my favorite – sounds weird, but I’ve always imagined how that would be… (IT WOULD SUCK, FOR SURE). This story is about a girl who comes out of a coma, not remembering anything, except that her famous YouTube boyfriend died during the crash… but was she responsible? Read more…

4. I See London, I See France – Sarah Mlynowski

A book that has been buzzing around on the internet for a while… a book that’s gotten my attention! And it feels like THE perfect summer read. It tells the story of nineteen-year-old Sydney who goes on a trip to Europe with her best friend. They planned the perfect vacation, but it doesn’t really turns out that way with ex-boyfriends who show up and mothers with mental breakdowns. 5. Lucky in Love – Kasie West
Release date: July 25th 2017
Publisher: Scholastic
Okay, yes. I just HAD do include at least one really tacky love story in this list, since it is summer after all. Luckily Kasie West knows all about how to write great love stories, and this one sounds just about right. Maddie wins the lottery, which seems like a lot of fun at first, but she finds out it’s not all fun. Everybody wants something from her. Except that cute boy from the zoo who doesn’t really know about her new won money. Read more…
