Personal Update #2: Julia

Hey, guys!

Last time was Nanouk’s turn to give you all a little peek into our lives and now it’s mine! I’m one of the newer members (I joined last summer) of Dutch Book Chick and you probably just know my name from a few movie reviews. Time to change that!

So here’s my personal update!

This week hasn’t been the best week yet so far for me, sadly. Everyone seems to be sick with the flu, and I was one of the unlucky ones stuck in bed for most of this week. This was extra shitty because my exams start next week and studying while you’re in bed with a fever isn’t very easy. There’s been some plus sides, though: I read the entire Lone City series this week, had some delicious chicken soup and had some serious downtime to catch up on my favorite shows and movies!

I watched a lot of Nashville, I finished watching The Good Place and watched the movie Trainspotting yesterday. I love watching ‘modern classic’ movies, so if any of you have any recommendations, let me know in the comments!

Last year I started working at a cinema (which is the best job ever!) so whenever a new movie comes out, I wanna go ASAP. I really wanted to go see Patriots Day and Allied this week, but that damn flu kept me from going. I’m planning on seeing them as soon as possible though, so keep an eye out for my reviews. 🙂

It’s been a pretty uneventful few weeks, I wish I had more exciting things to tell you guys! I’m a journalism student and currently in my second year and it’s super stressful at the moment. I’m trying to see if I can do my internship next year in New York– I’ve been busy exploring my options so fingers crossed I’ll end up getting one, I guess! Gotta pass my exams next week first, haha.

I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump for all of 2016 really, but the Lone City series has gotten me right back on that reading horse. I’m gonna start reading As I Descended by Robin Talley. Let me know if you’ve read it!

Sadly, I have to get back to drinking a lot of orange juice and chicken soup to get better and studying so I can finally pass this exam. 🙁

Have a wonderful weekend and let us know what you’ve been up to this week!

Love,

Julia
