I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard the 7th Fast and Furious movie finally came out. I’ve heard a lot about how they were supposedly going to end Brian’s storyline since his character was played by Paul Walker who sadly passed away on november 30, 2013. So the new movie came out april 1st and because of exams I couldn’t go to the première, however I went the next day. I know that is almost two weeks ago but I had to see the movie again to be able to review without being too emotional because of the ending. More on that later because first I will give you a quick summary about the movie.

Dominic Torretto and his crew thought they left the criminal mercenary life behind. They defeated an international terrorist named Owen Shaw and went their seperate ways. But now, Shaw’s brother, Deckard Shaw is out killing the crew one by one for revenge. Worse, a Somalian terrorist called Jakarde, and a shady government official called “Mr. Nobody” are both competing to steal a computer terrorism program called God’s Eye, that can turn any technological device into a weapon. Torretto must reconvene with his team to stop Shaw and retrieve the God’s Eye program while caught in a power struggle between terrorist and the United States. IMDB

In this movie the crew is being threatened by Deckard Shaw, played by the badass Jason Statham. Deckard Shaw is Owen Shaw’s brother who has been defeated by the crew in fast and furious 6. Deckard Shaw killed Han to get revenge on the crew, because Han was one of the crew. After they find out Han has been killed by Shaw they agree to work together one last time, as one big familia.

The movie contains some exciting and action packed scenes that are even more intense than the last 6 movies combined. They’re literally no limits here, I mean who would think to go parachute jumping with cars, or who would ever even dream about fighting against ‘the Rock’! Also the graphics and the cinematography is very good compared to the other movies, maybe that’s because of James Wan as the new director instead of Justin Lin, who directed 5 fast and furious movies.

Normally action movies aren’t really my cup of tea, however I’ve been following these movies for approximately ten years now and I absolutely love them. This love started when the 3rd movie The Fast and the Furious: Tokio Drift (2006) came out and I’ve been watching them ever since.

The story of the movie was great. The action scenes were absolutely amazing and mind blowing. However I can’t talk about this movie without talking about the perfect ending it contained. The end scene that is dedicated as a goodbye to Paul Walker. Since they were’nt finished shooting the movie when Paul Walker passed away they used his brother and some amazing computer technology to create this ending. They put Paul’s brother in the car and with the computer technology they put Pauls head on his brother’s body. The fact that they did this is perfect, I mean they could have just make a scene were they talk about something happening with his character Brian but they chose to honor Paul instead. The end scene is a perfect homage to Paul and also to the very first movie. I struggled to not cry at this moment because the scene felt so real, like it wasn’t a part of the movie. It felt like the cast and crew of the Fast and Furious movies were saying goodbye to their friend. All I can say at this moment is that the movies just won’t be the same without Paul Walker in them. And as Vin Diesel has said in an interview you can definitely see that the movie really isn’t in memory of Paul, but like the ending says “For Paul”.

In a nutshell:
Loved it: YES!
Re-watch: already did, and probably will again as much as I can (but then in a marathon though)!
Cinema worthy: Definitely!!
