As a bunny lover and a Disney lover, I knew I had to see Zootropolis –an animated Disney movie with a bunny in the lead- as soon as I heard about it. It’s a lovely movie accompanied by a Shakira sountrack (bonus!)
In a city of anthropomorphic animals, a rookie bunny cop and a cynical con artist fox must work together to uncover a conspiracy. (IMDB)
Disney’s been on a bit of a winning streak lately. Scoring big hits with Frozen, Big Hero 6 and Inside Out, I had huge expectations! The movie brings us to Zootropolis, a big city where animals peacefully live alongside each other.
Zootropolis revolves around Judy Hopps, a bunny with a big ambition: she wants to be the first bunny ever to become a police officer. She manages to fulfill her dreams and goes off to the big city with her hopes up. As soon as she gets there, she quickly finds herself intrigued by a missing animal’s case, and starts an investigation that’ll change everything..
Let me start off by saying this might be one of the best movies Disney has ever released. It’s so, so good. The mysterious plot has you on the edge of your seat, the plot twist will blow your mind and you will go ‘aww’ out loud a lot because of all the cute animals. I love the way Zootropolis looks.. there’s a little village for all the hamsters to live and extra big train doors for the lions and all the other huge animals.
It’s Disney, so the movie will have somewhat of a ‘hidden message’. Remember how Frozen was about two sister’s saving each other and realizing they don’t need guys to do that? Girlpower! Zootropolis teaches us a very valuable lesson in rascism and tolerance; something we could all use lately. The movie deals with these heavy subjects in a beautiful way.
I loved Zootropolis and I’m already looking forward to seeing it again. It’s clever, it’s sweet and above all; it’s GOOD! Go see it, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
