Good afternoon booklovers,
How are you all enjoying April? I wanted to list books that would be a perfect Easter fit, but I found out Easter isn’t really a THING. YA books aren’t usually yellow, so my idea for a list of yellow YA books is close to impossible. So for now, I will just list a couple of very cool YA books that will be released in April! And they are GOOD.
1. The Glittering Court (The Glittering Court #1) – Richelle Mead
Release Date: April 5th
Publishers: Razorbill
You guys have probably already read at least something of Richelle Mead. She’s best known for Vampire Academy and her more recent series Bloodlines. The story is about a girl from a wealthy family, who’s forced into a loveless marriage. The Glittering Court will mean freedom for her, a new chance. She goes undercover as a pore maid and she gets herself into lots of trouble. Also, there’s a handsome guy. Need to say more? Read more…
2. The Mirror King (The Orphan Queen #2) – Jodi Meadows
Release Date: April 5th
Publishers: Katherine Tegen Books
When I heard about The Orphan Queen, I was soooo excited. I never bought the book, but since the second book will be released next week, I might consider getting both books at once. It’s a high fantasy book and the blurb on Goodreads sounds way to complicated to summarize or describe here. All I know that that’s magic involved, which is pretty cool. Also, look at the cover of this book. A-MA-ZING! And the good thing (I guess): this series is a duo-logy. So no need to wait for a final installment, because this is it! Read more…
3. The Raven King (The Raven Cycle #4) – Maggie Stiefvater
Release Date: April 26th
Publishers: Scholastic Press
This series has been on my TBR but I still haven’t picked it up. The fourth and last installment in this series is promised to be thrilling and super awesome. I couldn’t find a lot about this book on the internet, but the things I did find, were very positive. It’s already starred 4.41 on Goodreads, so this book will probably be very good. I guess. It’s about true love, and death, which is a good combination. Read more…
4. Soldier (The Talon Saga #3) – Julie Kagawa
Release Date: April 26th
Publishers: Harlequin TEEN
As one of my all time favorite authors, I cannot wait for the third part of The Talon Saga. I enjoyed the first two book A LOT. And the good thing is, that there will be 5 books in this series! It’s about dragons that can turn into humans and humans who have been hunting dragons since the beginning of times. There’s of course a forbidden love – Julie’s specialization. Julie can write so good: whether she has to describe surroundings or a very exciting fighting scene, you will not breath until you close the book. Read more…
5. The Rose & the Dagger (The Wrath and the Dawn #2) – Renee Ahdieh
Release Date: April 26th
Publishers: G.P. Putnam’s Sons Books for Young Readers
The first book in the series got lots of positive review, and I still haven’t picked it up – sorry! The tagline on Goodreads say: “I am surrounded on all sides by a desert. A guest, in a prison of sand and sun. My family is here. And I do not know whom I can trust.” This sounds pretty cool. So it’s set in a desert (original!) and she doesn’t know who she can trust (not very original but always interesting). Whether she’s a literal prisoner or not, this book has said to be breathtaking.
