YA Books I STILL haven’t read

If you can’t handle people who haven’t read YA books they clearly should’ve read years ago, please exit this blogpost because it will hurt you eyes. And probably your heart as well.

So, I will be completely honest with you. Whenever people start talking about YA books, heads automatically turn in my direction. People expect me to be the expert on YA books. And yes – I do know A LOT about YA books and I try to read as many as I can (though I’m also trying really hard to read outside of my little YA bubble), I have to admit that there is one thing I am very ashamed of. And that is a list of books I STILL haven’t read yet.

Last year, October 16th I uploaded this fun little video in which I showed you guys five (contemporary) YA books that I haven’t read yet. Books that I should’ve read years ago (whatever). 1. An Abundance of Catherines – John Green
Status: STILL HAVEN’T READ IT
Completely and utterly bad excuse: None, there’s none.
Should I read it: YES – you stupid girl. You’ve read Turtles All the Way Down too, so why not this one?
When will I read it: This year. Yes, I’m saying Christmas break.

2. All the Bright Places – Jennifer Niven
Status: STILL HAVEN’T READ IT
Completely and utterly bad excuse: Sky high expectations of this book.
Should I read it: Yup, probably right now, but I’m scared. Sorry!
When will I read it: Someday.

3. I’ll Give You the Sun – Jandy Nelson
Status: READ IT
When did I read it: I think May/June because I took it with me to a TV show I was at, talking about impactful YA books. But there’s no review of this book yet. I also read it in Dutch. But yeah – will work on that.
When will the review be up: I’m not making any promises, but hopefully around Christmas!

4. Eleanor & Park – Rainbow Rowell
Status: STILL HAVEN’T READ IT
Completely and utterly bad excuse: None, like, why? People are telling me to read it all the time.
Should I read it: YEAH – DUH. Sometimes I’m so stupid. Why buy new books when you can read his beauty?
When will I read it: Honestly, I don’t know. Maybe next year. I’m not making promises.

5. Fangirl – Rainbow Rowell
Status: STILL HAVEN’T READ IT
Completely and utterly bad excuse: I want to read Eleanor & Park first?
Should I read it: Yes. Rowell will haunt your dreams until your read her books.
When will I read it: After Eleanor & Park. Yes. Probably. Maybe?

So 1/5 is pretty bad. I know. I should do something about this sad sad sad situation. So – since I was completely honest with you guys, I need you to be honest with me as well. Which of these books haven’t you read? Let me know down below so we can sob and be ashamed together! <3
