I just finished Allegiant and this post is gonna be full of spoilers so: DON'T READ IT!

Attention: This post is FULL of SPOILERS. Do not continue under any circumstances if you haven’t read Allegiant yet. This post will ruin the book if you haven’t read it. SO PLEASE DON’T.

Did you hear that scream a few minutes ago? Yeah; that was probably me when I finished Allegiant. God damn you Veronica Roth, I’ve never hated a characters dead more than I did in Allegiant. FUCK YOU. Love you too, don’t get me wrong. But, yeah, fuck you.

I was sooooo excited to read Allegiant and finding out what was behind the walls of Chicago. But honestly: I wish I’d never read it because Veronica killed off all my favorite characters in like one book. She broke my heart. I don’t want to read ever again. Like: bury me under a stone and wake me up when Veronica has written a different ending to Allegiant.

I hope you guys agree with me that this ending was the worst ending ANY series has ever had? Let’s start with Harry Potter: the worst deaths were Dumbledore and Dobby. But at least Harry killed Voldemort at the end. What about Twilight? Well, that’s kinda like a truly happy ending, ’cause EVERYBODY survives. Maybe Bree Tanner was a sad death, but I could survive loosing her. Then it gets trickier with The Hunger Games. So, yes, I was devastated when Finnick died. And when Rue died. And when Primrose died. But still: Katniss survived. And Peeta (as far as he was still Peeta) survived too. They even got kids.

BUT WHAT ABOUT TRIS AND TOBIAS? WHAT DO THEY GET? A really BAD sex scene and at the end of Allegiant… TRIS JUST DIES AND AND AND. Pfft. I don’t know how I’m even gonna be able to get over her death. Dear Veronica Roth, what the fuck were you thinking? Let’s just make a better world, no wars, but yeah… Tris has to die. Whatever.

God. I don’t think I’m gonna be able to watch Divergent in the cinema next year. CUZ I KNOW TRIS WILL DIE. There will be no more Fourtris scenes, no more cute Fourtris babies and well… no more Fourtris WHAT SO EVER.

I could rant about this forever. And I will. But I don’t want to spoil the book. This post is ONE BIG SPOILER. I have put in up in the title, so nobody could blame me for spoiling the book. And if you HAVE read Allegiant, please let me know what you thought about it. Because right now, all I can do is sob and scream.

Ps: I will write an honest and probably more professional review in a few days when I’m done with crying.

  1. I have really mixed feelings about the ending, but I totally understand your reaction. I felt worse about not having a happy ending with Tris and Tobias than I did about the death. It was a really depressing way to end the book and I didn’t see it coming at all.

  2. Ohh my! I completely agree with you! I just finished it a second ago and the first thing I did was google “what the fu** allegiant” and you popped up. I’m so mad at Roth, how the f bomb again could you do that? I DO NOT want to watch in theaters just because of that. You can’t make us fall in love with this character and then just kill her! I only kept reading afterwards because I was expecting her to magically appear and kiss Tobias! Ughh I really wish I hadn’t read this book.

    • Hi Ana! Amen to that, I just can’t believe what Roth did! :O I’m still upset about it and I will probably be upset about it forever 🙁 Just like you said: You fall in love with a character. And when that character dies, your heart just breaks. But Tris dying isn’t ‘just’ a character. Tris is what makes the Divergent series so damn good… And Tobias… I feel sorry for him! I agree with you saying that not reading the book would be better! And if you wanna know why she did what she did… Roth explains it here: http://veronicarothbooks.blogspot.nl/2013/10/about-end-of-allegiant-spoilers.html
