We know some of the actors behind the wonderful representations of the beloved Captain America, Deadpool, Batman, Superman etc, but do we know what other comic-character they tried to ace? We’ll be listing some of the actors who have played some of our favorite characters and also played some of the lesser known or less successful on-screen versions of comic book characters.
Ryan Reynolds: Deadpool vs Green Lantern
Despite the huge success of the 2015 Deadpool movie, Ryan Reynolds has tried to play a comic-to-movie character before. This didn’t go so well, though I have nothing bad to say about Ryan Reynolds himself. The movie just wasn’t a success and Reynolds, being the guy that he is, accepted this and made fun of himself in Deadpool.
Chris Evans: Captain America vs Lucas Lee
Chris Evans pulled off playing one of the most successful Marvel characters effortlessly. This wasn’t the only comic book character he played, though. He appeared as Ramona’s second evil ex, Lucas Lee, in Scott Pilgrim vs the World. I honestly don’t think Evans could have done a better job at it. This movie was one of the weirdest ones I’ve seen so far. I don’t know if I’d be proud of it if I were Evans.
Ben Affleck: Batman vs Daredevil
Let’s be honest, he’s a good Batman, but he should leave being Daredevil to Charlie Cox. The Daredevil (2003) movie wasn’t great and I, as a huge fan of Daredevil, wish it was never made. Affleck isn’t a bad actor and he, the character, Jennifer Garner (who played Elektra Natchios in the movie) and every other person in that movie deserved better. And most of them got better. Keep on Batmanning, Affleck.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson: Quicksilver vs Kick-Ass
I enjoy watching Kick-Ass. It’s hilarious. I also enjoy The Avengers. A familiar face has been spotted in Age of Ultron and yes, yes, it is true, Kick-Ass is Quicksilver. Aaron Taylor-Johnson does well in both movies, being funny in both, kicking ass in both. I wish to see more of him in the Avengers, but those of you who have seen the movie, you know……….
Samuel L. Jackson: Nick Fury vs Frozone Okay, okay. I hear you. The Disney movie “The Incredibles” isn’t officially a comic-movie, but you know, it’s… super. And Jackson deserves some love for this role. He was awesome. Although I never have complaints about his acting, this movie is one I have loved since the moment it came out and everything just falls into place when I hear how his voice matches the character. Of course, we also love him as Nick Fury in the MCU.
Do you prefer actors in a certain role? Would you have loved to see them reference to previous super-roles or would you have preferred other actors to play said characters? Let us know!
