Meet our new bloggers: Aranka & Julia

Hi guys, as you might have noticed, about a month ago we were looking for two new bloggers to enforce our team, since Esther and Michelle were leaving us. Last week we announced who would be our new members. We picked Aranka and Julia, whom from their letters sounded like they were just the perfect fit for Dutch Book Chick. Since they will be updating you from now on, it would be impolite not to introduce you to these amazing two girls!

FOTOAranka (series)

Hi y’all! My name is Aranka, and while I’m yet still a newbie here, I’m overflowing with creativity and emotion, so I’m sure I’ll fit right in. I’m currently studying Comparative Literature and I’m 18 years old. My complete sarcasm and mockery of everything might be seen in my text posts, but I promise you: I’m actually a very nice, good person and I laugh a lot. My zodiac sign is Cancer. Are we compatible? 😉
What would Aranka take with her if she’d find herself in a situation similar to “The 5th Wave”: “I’m not the kind of sentimental type to bring photo-albums, I think I’d have to think more practical. It might sound very depression, but I think I’d take a suicide pill. I’d rather die than have crazy aliens doing obscure tests on me, dude!”
Favorite series: “The Walking Dead. It took me 0.01 seconds to decide. I usually cry over a movie or a series, but it has never been as bad as it is with The Walking Dead. After every episode of season 4 it took me a week to get myself together (and secretly I’m still NOT OKAY). The series seems to look for the perfect opportunity to destroy your feelings (in the best way possible, of course).

croppedjuloaJulia (movies)
Julia is a reviewer at this website, specialized in films. She’s a 22 year old journalism student and spends way too much time watching movies and series. As long as it doesn’t involve anything horror related, she’ll probably love it. Her hobbies include writing, getting ignored by her two bunnies and sleeping.
What would Julia take with her if she’d find herself in a situation similar to “The 5th Wave”: “Have you ever seen the Disney movie Tangled? At a certain moment, they find out that a cooking pan is actually very very handy: you can knock out your enemies and protect yourself with it. So yeah it probably take a very big cooking pan with me. Would I every found a working kitchen, I could use it for baking food. Smart, right?”
Favorite movie: “Yeah, it’s very cliche: Pride & Prejudice. It really really really is my favorite movie of all time! I’m also a very big fan of movies that have a very big plot twist at the ending, like Gone Girl and Fight Club. Just give me something with a plot twist and I AM SOLD.”

Welcome to the team and we can’t wait to get started! You’ll read their first blogpost very soon-ish! Stay tuned for more…
