A romantic movie starring the timeless and beautiful Blake Lively alongside our own dutchy Michiel Huisman, how can you say no to that? It is always nice to see a Dutch actor/actress getting recognition in the American Film industry! The movie has an interesting storyline about a woman who can’t age due to an accident.
After miraculously remaining 29 years old for almost eight decades, Adaline Bowman has lived a solitary existence, never allowing herself to get close to anyone who might reveal her secret. But a chance encounter with charismatic philanthropist Ellis Jones reignites her passion for life and romance. When a weekend with his parents threatens to uncover the truth, Adaline makes a decision that will change her life forever. IMDB
So the movie is about Adaline who is running from her big secret, the fact that she can’t age and has been 29 for decades now. Every ten years she changes her identity and where she lives etc. Even though she doesn’t age anymore, her daughter Flemming still does which is kind of odd to see. When she meets the handsome Ellis Jones she tells him that they only have little time because she is moving away. I can’t really say much about the storyline without spoiling the whole entire movie so you’ll just have to check that out for yourselves.
I have to admit that I’m not a very big fan of the Dutch Filmindustry, don’t get me wrong I appreciate their hard work but it just isn’t that great to be honest. But then again I have no complaints about Michiel Huisman his acting, he’s absolutely brilliant and speaks English beautifully. I mean you wouldn’t even notice that he is Dutch while watching the movie. I’m familiar with his work only from Game of Thrones where I like him too (That ass though :P) but his acting in this movie is just from a whole another level. Off course he’s playing alongside Blake Lively which is a huge honour for him because she is an amazing actress and famous quite a while now. I would recommend this movie to anyone who wants to watch a romantic movie with their loved ones because the movie is just great. The scenes are beautifully shot and the story is just very interesting. Off course, just like all romantic movies, this movie is a tad bit cliché, but that’s why we love them right?
In a nutshell:
Liked: Hell Yeah!
Loved it: Absolutely!
Re-watch: Yes definitely worth re-watching with friends, or maybe that special person in your life.
Cinema worthy: Yes!
